Questions to ask when dating an older man

What does he talk about regarding his career; what are his long-term plans?

These have a lot to do with whether he is willing to commit.

At the time this annoyed me, and I wondered if he was as into me as I hoped.

One afternoon I had been on the beach since after the morning general session, but I had not heard from my boyfriend all day.

The truth is that it’s not about age, it’s about the personality type you’re dealing with.

When you meet a new guy, ask yourself three key questions to determine his personality type: First look at the way he speaks about his future.

Some 40-somethings recommend dating older men but caution that with too great an age difference there could be an imbalance of power. I had a guy friend who married a woman in her young 20s when he was 36. Visions of cozy nights a deux and dinner parties at their new home. So make sure as you get more serious that you talk about what you want your life to be like. And my third point would be to make sure he is not still a child.

Today as I listen to single women tell their stories about dating divorced men, I remember my experience well.

I see them making choices about dating divorced men similar to ones I made.

Because what I have tragically found is that Christian singles hit an area of desperation, particularly young women, and they will go: “Yeah, he is a Christian, he comes to church.” And really what they’re saying is this guy comes to church a couple of times a month, but outside of attending a service, he doesn’t have a real seriousness about growing in his understanding of the Lord, growing in his understanding of the Bible, being a prayerful person, no vivication or mortification that can be spotted, and no one who really knows them enough to speak to the growth in their character.

Now practically speaking, this means singles are seeking out people to speak into their lives.

Suddenly they start dating younger girls and in essence going through delayed adolescence.
