These pictures were sent by the seller: Ibp FG4 Kj Thanks in advance :) x.php?title=Epiphone_Serial_Number_Decoding I often find when I search gibson serials, if its a fake one you get a google hit on the exact serial – not the case here. For this reason, it is not as easy to know where each guitar comes from or when it was made.Epiphone stamps each guitar with a serial number, however, which when deciphered can tell a guitarist all he needs to know about the guitar.Epiphone fakes are pretty common, Squiers not so much.I think the counterfeiters probably think someone buying a Gibson would be more likely to scrutinise the guitar, suspecting that it could be a fake.
The obvious thing that confronts you is the question of whether or not the advertised guitar is the genuine article….
Hard to tell but agree about logo and headstock trim..the serial no. Not sure how much better an epi is to a Chinese knock off anyway.
Its generally pretty easy to spot a Gibson knock off..so easy for Epi's.
Hey all, Could someone please advise me if this Epiphone Les Paul Custom is real or fake?
The paint trim at the tip of the headstock, and the logo look a bit off to me, but I could use some experienced opinions.
